Updating the Front Entry

It’s not always possible to move into your dream house but it is always possible to change the home you have into the home you love.

I had the opportunity to do just that with one of my clients. This home had all of the design taste of the 70’s which in my personal opinion is awful. I can’t find much good in the designs of the 70’s. From car, home, and clothing design to hair styles,  the 70’s offered big, boxy and gaudy.

Now for the transformation of the front entry.

This home had the lap siding with the large gaps which I’m going to take care of using Silverset 90. This application works because there is no chance for rain to get to the entry as it is covered.

I filled the gaps in then added layers of texture using a broad knife on top of that to look like old world plaster. Once the texture was complete I painted it with a cool white satin paint.

Stay tuned for the tile replacement on the step.
